Fr. Bill and our staff offer our sincere condolences on the loss of your loved one and hope that your fond memories will bring you comfort and peace. We are here to help ease the burden of planning a funeral and are honored to serve your family in this way.
The links to the left contain information to help prepare for the funeral Mass, including options for readings, music selections, and two options for the Prayer of the Faithful. As you review the material, consider readings and music that may be meaningful to your family. Planning a funeral can feel overwhelming and we are here to help and support you.
While making your selections, consider which family and friends might participate in the funeral Mass. You will need people to read the first reading (Old Testament), the second reading (New Testament), the Prayer of the Faithful, and two people to bring up the gifts. The Gospel can be chosen by the family but is proclaimed by the priest.
A binder will be placed on the ambo/lectern containing the readings and the Prayer of the Faithful; the readers do not need to bring the readings with them.
Words of Remembrance: a family member or a friend of the family may speak in remembrance of the deceased. The church asks that the Words of Remembrance be given by one person, are after the opening prayer and prior to the first reading, be family friendly, and kept to 5 minutes.
Feel free to contact us email or phone with any questions or concerns as you move through the process of making your selections.
