The Liturgy Coordinator facilitates the celebration of Mass. He/she arrives 30 minutes prior to Mass and is responsible for ensuring all is in readiness for the Mass. The responsibilities include: making sure lay ministers are present, unlocking the doors, turning on the sound system, lighting the altar candles, checking that the lectionary and the Book of the Gospels are in place, handling the offertory, inviting people to bring up the gifts, and counting the number of Mass attendees. After Mass, the Liturgy Coordinator is responsible for securing the building - making sure candles are extinguished, lights are off, and doors are locked.
