Our Church teaches that parents are the primary educators of the faith. To this end, our First Communion Sacramental Preparation program has been created to partner with parents to help their children grow in knowledge and love of our loving and merciful God and prepare them to receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.
The First Communion Sacramental Preparation Program is for children in Grade 2, as well as those children in Grades 3-5 who are preparing to receive the sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Communion for the first time. We will follow a family formation model. Instruction and preparation for the Sacraments will consist of home lessons and a monthly parent/child class. Classes will meet on Sunday mornings and will include the celebration of the Mass. Classes will alternate between Most Precious Blood and St.Theresa Parish. Families will be notified of the first meeting once our new DRE arrives.
For parents of children enrolled in the First Communion Sacramental Preparation Program, there will be a parent meeting prior to the beginning of classes. The date will
be determined once our new DRE arrives on October 11.
