Cardinal Sean O'Malley has declared that the typical age for the reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation across the archdiocese will be moving from 10th grade to 8th grade. Here at St. Theresa and Most Precious Blood Parishes, we will be implementing this change gradually over the next two years as follows:
Grades 9 and 10 will meet monthly on Sunday evenings in preparation to receive Confirmation in spring 2025.
Grade 8, now Confirmation III, will meet weekly on Sunday afternoons in preparation to receive Confirmation in spring 2025.
Grade 7, now Confirmation II, will meet weekly on Sunday afternoons, beginning in the second year of our new three-year program which will culminate with their reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation in Grade 8, during the spring of 2026.
Grade 6, now Confirmation I, will meet weekly on Monday afternoons, beginning our three year Confirmation program from the very beginning! These students will be prepared to recieve the Sacrament of Confirmation in Grade 8, during the spring of 2027.
Please keep an eye on your email for a full outline of Religious Education offerings and Confirmation preparation adjustments.
If you are new to the parish, have questions about the transition, or if you did not have a child enrolled in grades 5-9 last year, please reach out to Zach Morris, Confirmation Coordinator/Youth Minister, at Zach@mpb-stp.org or (508) 318-9809.
