In addition to our ongoing collections of food, our collaborative participates in yearly events to help those in need in our communities. These important and necessary initiatives take but a small amount of time to make a difference in the lives of those served. Some of those events are:
Annual Coat and Blanket Drive Each year from mid-October through late November we collect new and clean, gently used coats and blankets for the men and women in the SMOC shelters in Framingham. Hats, scarves, and gloves, and socks are also welcome. Volunteers sort and deliver the items to the shelters as they accumulate. Contact Joe Meany or Michelle Murphy for details.
Annual Baby Shower Every October our collaborative holds a "baby shower" to support the Archdiocese Pro-Life Office's work with expectant mothers . Baby clothes, diapers, bottles, and other items may be placed in the bassinets at the back of each parish. Checks payable to "Fund for the Unborn" are also accepted. Contact Carol Sennott (?) if you would like to help.
Walk to End Homelessness Our collaborative sponsors a team at Family Promise Metrowest's Walk to End Homelessness each year. St. Theresa Parish was one one the founding congregations of this organization. For information visit Family Promise Metrowest.
A Place to Turn Diaper Project Each fall A Place to Turn in Natick holds its annual diaper drive. All sizes of diapers are collected and distributed throughout the year to the local families served by A Place to Turn. Our volunteers deliver the diapers with our usual food deliveries. See the website for details.
